About Gyneth Held - Your North York Speech Therapist
Hi, I'm Gyneth (but please, call me Gynny).

For over 30 years, I've had the privilege of helping children in North York overcome speech and language challenges.
Whether it's a toddler saying their first words or a school-aged child gaining confidence in communication, nothing brings me more joy than watching children find their voice.
Why Families Choose to Work With Me
1:1 Attention, Big Results
I believe every child deserves personalized attention. You won't be just another appointment on a packed schedule—your child will receive consistent, focused care, tailored to their individual needs.

You're Part of the Team
Parents know their children best. That's why I include parent coaching in every session. I'll teach you practical strategies to support your child's progress during everyday moments: meals, bath time, play, and bedtime. This isn't just therapy—it's a partnership.

Specialized in Children
While I also work with teenagers and adults, my passion lies in helping young children during their critical developmental years (ages 2-12). The preschool years especially are when speech intervention has the biggest impact, so let’s make this short window count!

No Long Waitlists
I know how frustrating it is to wait months for help. Public system waitlists can span 6-12 months. Most families start with me within 2-3 weeks.

Flexible Options for Busy Families
Life is hectic. That's why I offer both in-person sessions in North York and virtual therapy across Ontario. I also have flexible appointments when available, so therapy fits your family's schedule.

Evidence-Based + Playful
I use research-backed techniques, but they're delivered through play, games, and activities that my young clients always look forward to. Therapy should be engaging and fun—and still get results.
